Thomas Teago - McDonald's Playlist and more

It's been a while since I last did a blog. So many things have happened since the last time. 2016 was a year of co starting a label. Overseeing releases on the label and learning lots about the business side of the music industry and the way things work outside of just being creative in the studio.

Two releases occurred on the SouthShaw Records label that I set up with Thomas Teago. The first called 'Be With You' in June 2016. A Thomas Teago single which managed to get Radio 1 play in the UK which is a massive achievement for a new artist and a new independent label. The second in November 2016 was another Thomas Teago single called 'Lights Down Low' which featured Fazer from the multi platinum selling UK Pop group N-Dubz.

'Lights Down Low' is now playing in gyms, on airlines, in pubs and also from January to March 2017 the single which I co wrote will be play-listed in the UK in McDonald's, KFC, Subway, Wilkinson's and more. View the picture below.

Funny thing happened early January 2017. I was sat in a McDonald's in Oxford Street in the UK and whilst eating my burger 'Lights Down Low' happened to come on in the McDonald's. That was a crazy moment that I'll never forget. I always wanted to hear my music played in McDonald's for some reason and to have it happen was surreal. I wanted to let all the customers know that I co wrote the song but I just sat there smiling and taping the moment to myself which you can view here on my Instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/BOxOmBvArQo/?taken-by=marveewoods&hl=en

I'm sure 2017 has a lot more surprises in store musically for me and I very much look forward to experiencing them.
